ALS
February is often characterized with cold days and heavy winds, not the ideal circumstances for seatrout fishing along the Danish coast. For all that I tempted myself a few times before to go out and fish for a few days in Denmark in the early season.
NORWAY, TRYSILELVA, THREE MEN, ONE WEEK; PART V
After filling up our fly boxes we decide to fish a stretch further downstream. We haven't been in this area yet and are curious to go there. There are many good spots marked with the wooden grayling and a parking place.
NORWAY, TRYSILELVA, THREE MEN, ONE WEEK; PART IV
After yesterdays night fishing, again we started slowly, again. A nice and welcome consequence of the long daylight. We relax and feel as if we’re on vacation. Johan feels sick today and we decide to look around in the direct surroundings.
NORWAY, TRYSILELVA, THREE MEN, ONE WEEK; PART III
The next day we started quiet, resting from our journey and impressions of the first days. Johan and Erik went shopping. I stayed at the cabin and ran into Arve Herman Tangen, a local fly fisher and guide who worked at the camping.
THE OLD MEN AND THE SEA: FYN, SEPTEMBER 2007, PART 1
Last years I managed to visit Denmark at least 3 times a year. This year only one time so far, in the spring. So I missed the Baltic and had to visit Denmark before the end of the year 2007. Off course there was the trip to Norway, but seatrout fishing in Denmark is the best!
THE OLD MEN AND THE SEA: FYN, SEPTEMBER 2007, PART 2
Last years I managed to visit Denmark at least 3 times a year. This year only one time so far, in the spring. So I missed the Baltic and had to visit Denmark before the end of the year 2007. Off course there was the trip to Norway, but seatrout fishing in Denmark is the best!
ÖLAND
For many years we thought about visiting Öland. It seemed to be a fantastic island; sun, sea, beautiful beaches on the Westside and rocky coasts on the Eastside and of course Öland is famous of it's seatrout-fishing. We discovered Öland is great indeed.
NORWAY, TRYSILELVA, THREE MEN, ONE WEEK; PART II
We made an appointment to fish that direct evening and night with Espen and decided to go to a spot nicknamed Alaska, because of the similarities in scenery and hopefully the fishing quality.
NORWAY, TRYSILELVA, THREE MEN, ONE WEEK; PART I
Within the near future, a couple of weeks, I’m travelling up north. Together with Johan and Eric. We’ve planned a trip to Norway, to the province of Hedmark. An area close to the Swedish border. They’ve been in that area before but it will be my first time.
LA RISLE
La Risle is one of the places on my wish-list of fishing-destinations. Tales out of "A Flyfisher's Life" by Charles Ritz exercises great power of attraction on me, but it never got done so far.
NIGHTFISHING FOR SUMMERTROUT
This year, as before, we planned a July-trip to Fyn to do some night fishing for seatrout. Dragging muddlers, cigars and bugs (which are almost too ugly to touch) through the surface is very exciting! Fishing those flies in the dark I quote 'magnificent'.
FROZEN FYN
It’s the fifth time my brother-in-law, my brother and yours truly will be going to Denmark to…. Yes to do what? It’s true, my passion for seatrout has been the initial reason for these outings, but it has turned out to be more than this: ....
AEBELO, Part 1
Day one.
Tuesday, July 5th, 2005.
6 o’clock a.m., first daylight, and: ‘Holidays’: Denmark! Together with Jille and Eddie I will travel to Funen. The road will lead to Aebelo, a small peninsula on the North-coast of Funen. So far I have only seen it through my binoculars, from a terrace in Bogense.
AEBELO, Part 2
Day two,
Wednesday, July 6th, 2005.
At 3.30 a.m. the cold woke us up. The thought that our mattress and waders would provide enough warmth proved to be an illusion. All this rain had made us decide not to use our sleeping-bags, but, cold to the bone, we decide to get in after all.
AEBELO, Part 3
Day three,
Thursday, July 7th, 2005.
Today, the weather seems to be lots better than yesterday. It’s sunny, and there’s a mild North-east wind. The (estimated) temperature is 20-22 degrees C. Already, our last full day on Aebelo. Our water resources begin to shrink.
