PD-NYMPH
The PD-nymph which actually stands for Peizerdiep-Nymph owns it name from one of the most famous ide-waters in The North of Holland, the Peizerdiep. The Peizerdiep almost runs through my backyard, it takes 5 minutes cycling so it's one of my favourite streams.

IDE IDEA
Big spiders and wets are great for fishing Ide. Last summer I had a lot of success with big Black Gnat Spiders tied on a size #8 hook, but also small streamers were taken eagerly. The idea to produce a combination of a spider and a streamer was a fact.

MAGNUS
A winner in every season under any circumstance! I always start my trip with a Magnus and mostly end with a Magnus too. I think most Danish fishermen's favourite is the Magnus or it's relatives Grå Frede or Bjarke too.

BOOBY
Booby stands for idiot or clumsy fool, but I can only think about tits and fly-fishing for ide when I use the word. I think boobies owe their name because of its shape, but the wriggly action of a booby looks a little clumsy too. Well, I don't care!

JULETRAE
The First time I got acquainted with the Juletrae was in April 2001. One of the guys that joined us on a seatrout-trip bought a few at the Kolding FlyFair. I didn't pay much attention to this kitschy creature at that moment, but within a few days I did.

PHEASANT TAIL NYMPH
What is a site about flyfishing without an article or a step by step tying sequence of the mother of all nymphs. Yes rubbish! So, here it is. I think this weighted Nymph pattern is the most common used and succesfull Nymph pattern existing. Now, that's a statement!

RUDOLPH THE REDTAILED GOLDNOSE
Wintertime. Naked trees, wild geese in the skies, temperatures are below zero at night and the car has ignition problems. It's winter nymphing time. Hoho. Green velvet, red wool and gold beads, xmas colours! Merry Xmas!

HARRY POPPER
I tie my own flies and can't remember I ever fished a fly that wasn't made by my own hand, but that day I bought a funny looking black foam-fly I really had to try that night. The shop-owner told me this "thing" that actually didn't had a name, definitely should bring some sea-trout in the net during night-fishing.

GAMMARUS
Gammarus or scuds are definitely getting nervous when sea trout are around. These beautiful tiny creatures live in large numbers along the Danish shore and are the bite to eat for fish like sea trout.

HAIRY SNACK DIVERSITY
In an earlier article I wrote about the Hairy Snack, a pike-fly for light tackle. (Light means an #6 flyrod, nor less!) When fishing ditches and small canals an #6 is sufficient, a ‘small’, light and almost water-repellent streamer belongs to this kind of fishing.

HAIRY SNACK
I think autumn is the best period for fly fishing pike. It's delicious to sniff the autumnal smell of mushrooms and fallen leaves and being surrounded by a colourful landscape in this season. Besides that, clouds, rain and fresh winds are often identifying marks for a successfully day of pike fishing.

PIMP YOUR SHRIMP
When fishing seatrout in the Baltic Sea, one often notice huge shoals of shrimps swimming around your wading boots. They're fast, at least to fast to catch with bare hands. You definitely need a net if you'd like to take a closer look.

IDE; THE FLIES
Ide is not a very choosy fish. They will take dry flies, like palmers and sedges from size 16 up to size 6. Fishing nymphs you can give them almost anything, like IJssel-nymphs, (Fluor-nymphs), Pheasanttails and other, sometimes weird creations.

BBQ-BUGGER
Ever since I go out on holidays with my family Denmark is often our destination. For several reasons. A 6 hours ride, rest, nature, a clear sea, most of the time good weather, and since the Euro was introduced the price-level is almost similar.
