WHEN GIANTS MEET
Once every year in the closed season two South Tipperary fly-fishing associations organize an encounter at a rainbow trout lake. The main intend of the day is to have a bit of Craig. But of course there is the underlying competitive feeling between associations and their members.
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
Last weekend (12-04-2009) I decided it’s enough. Of course catching Ide can be done all year around, but spawning season for Ide starts roughly in the middle of March and ends in the middle of April around here.
PADDY'S DAY
For fly fisher man in Tipperary Paddy's Day has another meaning : openings day on the rivers. After a long winter , where most of the fisherman fished for rainbows in on of the many lakes , the openings day is a relief.
STONED
I like to be at the waterfront, walking the beach, to be on a ship, sailing, like to swim and of course love fishing the fly! I visit the these places as often as possible. Mostly during the weekends and during the holidays. You could say the water more then just attracts me. How come?
A GREAT CONCEPT
I already own some vices, simple and old ones. One I bought 25 years ago when I started with fly fishing. Another one, an Orvis, was part of a whole bunch of fly fishing and fly tying stuff I bought from a guy cleaning his attic. The third one I bought a couple of years ago, a rotating one, a cheaper model.
THE HUNT FOR THE MAN-EATER

JENS PETERSEN
Brrr, cold winds and low temperatures are the reasons for fishing near Munkebo in the shallow waters of the Odense Fjord. We attempt to fish for seatrout near the small harbour. Harsh conditions, eastern winds, air temperature below 5 degrees Celsius and we're standing in the icecold waters hoping for?
THREATS FROM ABOVE
It happened on a quiet, sunny autumn day. Young swallows hung around the reed beds, common sandpipers were searching for chironimod larvae and cormorants raised their wings to dry. Everything was quiet but all the birds seemed particularly vigilant. The huge cumulus-clouds somehow created a feeling of expectation.
